Located in the heart of downtown Youngstown, we aim to embody the spirit and energy of our community through great food, a full-service bar, and live broadcasts of YSU athletics. John Rudy
John Rudy, a proud Youngstown native, has spent his career shaping the restaurant and hospitality scene in the region. Starting his journey at the former BW3 in downtown Youngstown, Rudy gained hands-on experience that paved the way for leadership roles, including a management position at Quaker Steak & Lube in Cleveland. His entrepreneurial drive led him to co-own The Magic Tree Pub & Eatery in Boardman, where he championed local businesses and fostered a sense of community.
Rudy’s vision for The Varsity Club Youngstown is for it to be a versatile and welcoming space, the restaurant features a lively tavern with a long bar and high-top tables, as well as a quieter dining area ideal for families and special gatherings.
A firm believer in Youngstown’s potential, Rudy sees challenges as opportunities for growth and is committed to contributing to the city’s revitalization. With The Varsity Club, he aims to create a hub for locals and visitors alike, blending his passion for great food with his dedication to community and hospitality.
